Pokemon Go January 2026 Events

Hello trainers,

again I’m late for the monthly post 😅

Happy new Year to everyone ! Best wishes for 2026, hope you get what you want and as for Pokemon Go, it’s the 10th anniversary of the game 🥳🎉

I have very fond memories about the launch of the game 10 years ago, that summer of 2016 was absolutely awesome, I remember seeing hordes of people going the same direction every time a rare spawn happened, at that time any Dragonite, Snorlax, Lapras, Chansey would drive so many people for a chance to catch. You have to remember that, there was no trading yet, only the first 151 Pokemons were released, no shinies also, so that was the best Pokemons you could get, and some of them were really useful for the first Gym system, which is completely different than what we have now.

I remember seing all kind of people out playing the game, doesn’t matter the age, gender or origin, everyone played the game during that summer and I think about that time with strong nostalgia ; I remember one time I saw on the fastpokemap website a Snorlax near my place of work (I was a salesman at an art supplies shop at the time, in a big city) and I asked my manager to take my afternoon break earlier so I could go catch it 😂😂- for those like me who played the game since release, you know what I’m talking about – and to be honest with you, with the world we’re in nowadays, whether 2025 or 2026, I would love to go back 😌

10 years later, after moving to a rural place, I don’t play the game as I used to. I have to say, Niantic (and now Scopely) are often target of criticisms – often deserved – but they have made lots of improvements for rural players, it’s still not the same experience as those who live in big cities but at least they are trying, so kudos to them. The game itself is still very unfair, by design, as depending of where you live, your Pokemon Go experience will be very different.

Now, enough rambling, let’s see what content we’ll have in January !

Honestly it’s gonna be a slow month and it’s not bad I’d say after the Holidays and we have Go Tour 2026 in February, so for January we’ll get in Raids :

– Thundurus Incarnate 16-25 Jan
– Tornadus 25-4 Feb

– Mega Blaziken 5-16th Jan
– Mega Sceptile 16-25th Jan
– Mega Ampharos 25-4Feb

– Shadow Cresselia from Jan 2nd

Nothing really exciting but if you need anything, you can use our Raid Service !

One of the highlight of this month would be the Kyurem Fusion Raid Day (already passed at time of writing this post 😅) and the Shadow Raid Day, for which we still don’t have information on, so we’ll see.

Max battles this month will add Drampa in the pool of Dmax Pokemons and that’s almost it for January ! I’ll let you check out the infographic from G47IX for the rest 👍
